Farm irrigation automation is essential for modern farmers to maximize crop yield and conserve water. Mobitech, a pioneer in agricultural technology, offers a comprehensive farm irrigation automation system that simplifies large-scale farm management and boosts productivity through advanced fertigation and monitoring solutions.
Dr. Arun manages an extensive 80-acre farm in Sethumadai, Pollachi, cultivating crops such as Areca Nut, Coconut, and Nutmeg. Implementing farm irrigation automation across such a large farm ensures efficient water and nutrient delivery while reducing labor and time.
The farm utilizes multiple water sources, including five wells and three bore wells. Each source irrigates approximately 20–22 acres, creating five irrigation zones for precise farm irrigation automation tailored to crop and soil requirements.
Each water source feeds into a dedicated process room, the hub for water control and treatment. Main pipelines of 3-inch diameter supply water efficiently across the farm. Pressure sensors and release valves maintain the recommended pressure for drip irrigation between 2.5 to 3 bar, with excess pressure released at 3.5 bar to protect the system.
Water passes through primary and secondary filters to remove debris and particles as small as 150 microns, ensuring drippers remain unclogged. Flow meters monitor water usage per valve in real time, allowing the central controller to regulate solenoid valves for automated and precise irrigation.
Mobitech’s fertigation system injects nutrients like TIP Potassium directly into the main irrigation line using a booster pump operating at higher pressure (3.5 bar). Centralized motor controllers manage valves and pumps across the farm, while automatic backwash cycles and semi-automatic disc filters simplify maintenance and ensure uninterrupted nutrient delivery.
The battery-powered air controller operates up to 10 motors and supports remote control via SIM or Wi-Fi. Installed centrally, it covers a radius of 2.5 km, extendable to 5 km, ideal for large and dispersed farms. Solar panels and battery backups provide up to four days of continuous operation, even without sunlight.
Each pump room is equipped with electrical wiring, EB connections, RYB phase monitoring, three-phase circuit breakers, and MCU controllers. Automated motor operations ensure irrigation schedules are followed, while circuit breakers prevent electrical hazards during heavy rain or wet conditions.
Precise Water Management: Multiple irrigation zones and real-time monitoring reduce water wastage and ensure crops receive optimal irrigation.
Labor and Time Efficiency: Automation reduces manual work, allowing farmers to focus on other critical tasks.
Increased Crop Yield: Consistent fertigation and irrigation improve crop health and productivity.
Scalability and Customization: Mobitech’s solutions can be tailored to farms of any size and requirement.
The automation system installed on Dr. Arun’s farm demonstrates how Mobitech’s farm irrigation automation technology transforms agriculture. Advanced irrigation, fertigation, pressure regulation, and remote monitoring empower farmers with precise control, resource conservation, and higher yields, paving the way for sustainable, modern farming practices.
“Automation is highly recommended for struggling farmers and those traveling long distances for irrigation.”
Stop spending hours turning valves in the heat. Our advanced controllers ensure your crops get the water they need exactly when they need it.
