Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Hardware Design Lead to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have over 8 years of experience in PCB design, with extensive expertise in using Altium Designer, and a strong background in end-to-end PCB design and micro soldering. As the PCB Design Lead, you will play a crucial role in the development and production of innovative electronic products, ensuring high-quality and reliable PCB designs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead PCB Design Projects: Manage and lead PCB design projects from concept through production, ensuring all designs meet technical and quality standards.
- Altium Designer Expertise: Utilize Altium Designer for schematic capture, PCB layout, and design verification.
- End-to-End Design: Oversee the complete PCB design process, including schematic entry, component selection, layout, routing, and DFM (Design for Manufacturability) considerations.
- Micro Soldering: Perform and supervise micro soldering tasks, ensuring precise and reliable connections for fine-pitch components and intricate circuitry.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, software developers, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless integration and functionality of PCB designs.
- Prototype Development: Lead the development of prototypes, including hands-on assembly and testing of PCB boards.
- Design Reviews: Conduct and participate in design reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for all PCB designs, including schematics, layout files, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and assembly instructions.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest PCB design trends, tools, and technologies, and continuously improve design processes and methodologies.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in PCB design, with a proven track record of successful projects.
- Altium Designer: Proficiency in Altium Designer is essential.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of PCB design principles, signal integrity, power integrity, and thermal management.
- Micro Soldering: Demonstrated experience in micro soldering techniques and rework of fine-pitch components.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical information.
- Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, Electronics, or a related field is preferred.
